We say NO school can beat our efficient and systematic approach to teaching!

This is what a student accomplishes on her/his first day on a 3 ½ hour session in Golden Hands.

1st Activity:

We teach the student how to measure* on a one-on-one basis.

 

2nd Activity:

We demonstrate to the student how to draft the front bodice pattern* of her size. For the male students, we use the medium size.  This is again taught on a one-on-one basis.

Then, it is the student’s turn to draft a front bodice pattern* using her measurements.  The male students draft the medium size.
We correct the student's work and if there is a mistake, then she/he has to draft the pattern again until perfected.

3rd Activity:

When the pattern has been perfected, we give the student the commercial size measurements for XS, S, M, ML, L, XL.  After which the student is made to draft two front bodice patterns of two sizes she/he has not yet done.

All these, the student gets to accomplish in his/her first 3 ½ hours stay with us!  A little more practice and our students are soon confident enough to do the basic bodice pattern without needing to look at the book for directions.
