Hi, there. I will always be grateful to Golden Hands and my classmates for giving their support to me during the night of the Wild Vines Fashion Competition of 2003, at which I received the First Runner-Up prize. As shown above, we may all come in all shapes, sizes, ages, school backgrounds, professions. But we have one thing keeps us connected…our love for fashion and Golden Hands! Also, we all agree that this is the only school where we are treated to free food complements of Mrs. Francisco. For instance, during the competition, though cocktails would be served at 8 p.m. , Mrs. Francisco, making sure that we would not go hungry, served a yummy merienda cena at 6 p.m. in school before we all left for the event. I heard that after the “on-the-spot” selection of the finalist for the Wild Vines Fashion Competition of 2004 which was held at Ortigas, Mrs. Francisco treated the 20 students who participated in the final selection to lunch at Greenbelt . Why am I mentioning all these? It is to stress that at Golden Hands students are important, and Mrs. Francisco always sees to it that they get maximum exposure to every aspect possible – that is, academically, socially, culturally and spiritually. --------Fitz |

For a radio station’s event, Eric Poliquet deconstructed the barong tagalog by ripping off the sleeves, shortening the pants, and wearing his necktie in his own unique fashion. For his partner, he designed and constructed a pair of palazzo pants and for accent, he splashed paint on it and stamped it with metal rings on the side. Eric was awarded the grand prize as Starquest’s Best Campus Designer for 2002. He has joined Danny Balboa, another Golden Hands alumnus, in Kuwait. ------Paul | |||||

When Teacher Tess was contracted to do some of the costumes of Filipinescas Dance Company for its “comeback” performance, we, her students, volunteered to help in the production of the costumes as part of our on-the-job training. For fun, Mads Villacorta, Stephanie del Rosario, and myself, Sally Ocampochua (counter-clockwise) modeled our creations. Don’t you think we did a fine job? Sharon Dwyer (center in lower picture) missed the fun of “modeling” her creation because she had to leave for London with her husband and two boys for the Holidays. ------- Sally
